You don't get through 12 years of graphic design without animating a few pixels here and there. I was fortunate enough for this to have been a daily occurence at my first corporate job out of college. I got hired at a place called Siren Technologies (a digital signage spinoff of Frankel), where we used After Effects, Flash, and Director to create content for a beta digital menuboard for McDonalds. Basically, we made Big Macs and fries fly around the screen. I pretty much fell in love with After Effects after that and still use it to this day. If you don't know what it does, the best way to describe After Effects is that it's like Photoshop for video.
